10: 10 Heartfelt Ways to Celebrate and Honor Your Angel Baby

Gift wrap Episode 10

As someone who experienced the loss of my twin girls 22 years ago, I can assure you that you never forget the baby you lost. The pain may change over time, but the memory remains. Today, I want to share some beautiful ways to celebrate and honor your angel baby, based on my personal experience and ideas I’ve helped my clients create.

Ideas to Help You Create a Meaningful Memorial

  1. Create a Memorial Garden Whether in your yard or on a shelf in your home, a memorial garden can be a beautiful tribute. Plant flowers, add decorations, or paint rocks. My bleeding heart plant, gifted by a friend after my loss, grows bigger each year, symbolizing my journey.
  2. Choose a Special Object Find an item that represents your baby. It could be a sculpture, a personalized plaque, or even a cuddly pillow. I have star candles symbolizing my twins, reminding me of their presence in our lives.
  3. Organize a Fundraiser Consider a charity event, run, or walk in your baby’s name. Some parents create scholarships or donate care packages to hospitals for other bereaved parents.
  4. Create a Christmas Ornament A special ornament or seasonal decor item can be a touching reminder during the holidays. We have an ornament for “sisters” with our girls’ names and birth year.

Find What Feels Right For You

  1. Make a Shadow Box or Photo Shelf Display special items in a shadow box or create a dedicated shelf. It’s a beautiful way to incorporate your baby’s memory into your daily life.
  2. Donate Books If a particular book helped you through your grief, consider donating copies to local libraries. It’s a way to help others while honoring your baby’s memory.
  3. Name a Star Websites like CosmoNova allow you to purchase and name a star in NASA’s National registry. It’s a unique way to give your baby a special place in the galaxy.
  4. Wear Memorial Jewelry A piece of jewelry can keep your baby close to your heart. Options include mother’s rings, lockets, or even breastmilk jewelry.
  5. Host a Birthday Party Celebrate your baby’s short life in whatever way feels right for you, from a quiet cupcake with your partner to a gathering with loved ones.
  6. Get a Memorial Tattoo Many parents choose to honor their babies with tattoos featuring footprints, names, dates, or symbolic images.

Remember, there’s no right or wrong way to celebrate your angel baby. Choose what feels most meaningful to you. These gestures can bring comfort and help keep your baby’s memory alive in your daily life.
